- the manager who approved the budget核准預算的那位經理先行詞是人，在子句中當主詞用 who，後面直接接動詞
- the candidate whom we interviewed我們面試過的那位應徵者先行詞是人，在子句中當受詞用 whom，後面接主詞 + 動詞
- the report which / that was submitted已經提交的那份報告先行詞是物，用 which 或 that
- the client whose order was delayed訂單延誤的那位客戶whose + 名詞表示所有關係（誰的什麼）
- the hotel where we stayed我們住過的那家飯店先行詞是地點，where 後面接主詞 + 動詞都齊全的完整子句
- the hotel which we booked我們訂的那家飯店子句缺受詞（booked 後面沒東西）時用 which 或 that，不用 where
